The Manchester Joint Hospitals is an amalgamation of Manchester Royal Infirmary with the neighbouring hospital sites to provide state-of-the-art facilities in one location.
The development comprises clinical facilities, research and academic buildings, administration and education suites, housing central and localised services plant and car parking. Facilities include a new heart renal, adult eye, women’s and children’s hospital’s including new energy centre and FM building.
Balfour Kilpatrick the M&E contractor for the hospital appointed EnTech after a long search to find a suitable lighting control system and control specialist to meet the designers brief.
EnTech supplied and commissioned an environmentally friendly lighting control system for the Children’s Hospital new main atrium. Utilising a selection of KNX components from Time Clocks to Day light sensors EnTech have provided a completely automated lighting control system which regulates the lighting levels all year round with no day to day input from the hospital staff.
As well as light regulation components KNX I/P devices have been installed to help Facilities Management with remote monitoring and maintenance but also to allow for the future expansion of lighting control to other areas of the hospital.
